4+ reasons to not use shaving as a hair removal method

Why you should refuse shaving?

All women dream about beautiful and smooth skin. Fashion trends and desire to be admired make the beautiful half of humanity search for the new ways of unwanted “vegetation” removal. Though, there are many ways of hair removal from different parts of the body, the majority of women prefer a regular shaving razor.

Advantages of using a razor

From the first sight, it really does have several advantages:

  • simplicity,
  • cheapness,
  • tool availability,
  • no pain during procedure.

But is everything that easy and carefree in reality? Are there any negative effects or hidden dangers in using razor? Let's see.

Side effects of shaving

The most common side effect of shaving is skin irritation. The reason of that – removal of upper epidermis layer during hair shaving. Shaving can be accompanied by some swelling of especially gentle skin (bikini zone), its redness, pimples, itching and soreness. Wherein repeated shaving not minimize, but very often increase chances of irritation.

But, according to doctors, irritation is not the biggest danger, that comes along with using shaving razor. The thing is, that even the most accurate shaving can be a reason of micro traumas, which, being unnoticeable for you, open the entrance for infections, viruses and bacteria, causing not only unpleasant sensations, but also skin diseases (molluscum contagiosum, pointed condyloma and etc.).

Besides that, shaving is causing the problem of ingrown hair. This method of hair removal is prohibited for people who suffer from dermatitis or other skin diseases.

Another not less important disadvantage of this method is often (2-3 days) procedure repeating, because growing “crew cut” is not only unattractive, but also unpleasant.

Process of hair removal with a shaving razor is not so simple and safe, as it seems from the first sight. Experiencing such problems as redness, after shave irritation, ingrown hair, you should look for another way of epilation, providing safer procedure and longer effect. Recently sugaring is getting more and more popular, it allows you to get rid of extra hair for a long period of time, without microtraumas and ingrown hair.
