Sugaring vs shaving
Many clients answering the question – what is better sugaring or shaving – without a hesitation would chose the second one. We presented an article, where we honestly described all possible pro and cons of both those methods of hair removal. This information you may and must use to attract clients. Each of those facts was carefully studied before bringing it out.
Pain level
Yes, it is exactly the first question that clients ask, speaking about sugaring. If we compare shaving and sugaring by pain levels, caused by each procedure, then sugaring is 100% losing here. But perhaps, this is one and... only disadvantage of the procedure. But even this minus will be unnoticeable after several procedures. According to client's, relatively painful is only the first time. Second procedure is twice less painful, and next 3–4 – hairs get way thinner and are being removed very easily.
Impact on the skin
1. Shaving
Shaving – is a mechanical hair removal with a blade. Hair is being cut from the surface of the skin. Problem is, that since the time a safe razor was invented, humanity is still searching for the method, that will allow you bring the blade maximally closer to the skin surface during shaving.
“Clean” shaving has its dark side – often procedure ends up with unpleasant sensation – burning and discomfort. This tell us, that during shaving you have not only cut the hair extremely close, but also damaged epidermis, opening the entrance for various infections.
Skin roughening and hyperpigmentation – are peculiar unpleasant bonuses that you get for using razor.
Many of us forget, that razor has to be carefully cleaned and washed after using, because the blade is a source of bacteria, which, after following usage, can cause infection.
2. Sugaring
During sugaring hair is not being cut, but is removed with its follicle. Soft and at the same time tight fit of the paste provides a maximum effect – hair removal without breakage. More than that, it provides a light peeling of dead epidermis cells, and their removal.
In sugar paste (because of the high concentration of sugars, that plays a role of natural preservative) bacteria reproduction becomes impossible. Therefore, sugaring by itself can never be a reason of infecting.
Hair condition
Regular shaving makes hair thicker in its central part, and therefore, more noticeable. After 2–5 hours you can experience unpleasant sensation if you touch your skin in opposite from hair growth direction – you can feel “bumps” – cut hair continue to grow, without slowing down.
Sugaring technique allow you to remove hair with root, pulling, along the direction of hair growth. Exactly that's why, not in 5 hours, nor in 3 days you skin won't get scratchy from growing hair. After several procedures, hair become weaker, thinner and less noticeable.
Procedure frequency
Women, who pay a lot of attention to their appearance know, that shaving, for example, of legs, is necessary at least once in 1–3 days (ideally - every day). So, as we can see, shaving becomes an every day, boring routine procedure. And buying all the necessary shaving equipment can cost you quite a lot.
Sugaring will allow you to forget about hair for two till four weeks (this index depends on hair color, and epilation area).
Ingrown hair
Shaving can also cause ingrown hair (including folliculitis), especially in bikini and armpits zones.
With a correctly performed sugaring technique, ingrown hair are almost excluded.
